Even though on auto delivery we ran out of oil due to the extreme cold out passing their usage estimates. On Sunday during a storm I feared the worst. Called Townsend, our fuel company, and a gentleman, Scott, stood tall and provided assistance. Within 45 minutes a tank truck backed down our driveway and put 248.5 gallons in our 250-gallon tank. The driver came in and primed and fired our burner. He also made sure our hot water heater was operational. What could have been a disaster was timely avoided by the excellent customer service provided by Scott and the Townsend team!

What makes Townsend a 5-star business for me is that they take accountability for any mistakes on their end. They also deliver oil at a reasonable price, and the customer service is prompt and professional. When a tech came out and did a “tune-up,” which actually caused a new problem, Townsend didn’t charge me when another guy came out and fixed it. I had to be pretty assertive in my communication, but again, I want to credit Townsend for owning that issue and not double-charging us. Thank you.

After multiple individuals at Townsend not following through with promises to send me a contract and come by my home to refill my propane, Scott showed empathy with my frustration, understood why I was worried during the middle of winter, and jumped right on getting me on the propane delivery schedule. Scott then followed up with me over the phone when he didn't need to, providing me with an update on expected delivery times. I have been a customer for over 30 years with the monthly service contract in place. Recently, I detected a minor leak in my original oil tank at 8 a.m. Within an hour a service person was on site and determined the tank would need to be replaced. By 11 a.m. the recovery crew was here to capture the oil to prevent any spillage incident. By 1 p.m. Derrick Brown the salesperson was on-site to offer replacement options. We came up with a plan, and new tanks were installed two days later once they arrived with a 30-year warranty and additional capacity. It could not have gone any smoother. Excellent response, excellent service, excellent professionalism by everyone involved. Thank you.
